FAQ

  • What is Sauna Hetta?

Sauna Hetta is a wood-fired barrel sauna located on the Northumberland coast, offering relaxing sauna sessions for adults aged 16 and over.

  • How long does each session last?

Each sauna session lasts for 45 minutes, providing ample time for relaxation and rejuvenation. We also run 2 and 3 hour sessions by arrangement.

  • What should I wear?

Swimwear is compulsory in our sessions. We recommend wearing your swimwear under your clothes when you arrive for your sauna session so you get the most out of it. You should have some flip flops or crocs for moving around site. You will also need a small towel to sit on and a large towel for drying. If you forget your towels there is towel hire on the day.

  • What facilities are there?

During the summer months we're based at the beach there are no faciities apart from cold water shower buckets next to the sauna. In Autumn-Spring we move the sauna to the verandah at The Barn on The Bay (just over the road from the dunes) so that guests can take advantage of the hot showers, loos, coffee in the cowshed and shelter on offer there.

  • What do I need to bring?

You must bring a towel to sit on and a water bottle or similar. We have drinking water available for refills but to cut down waste we do not provide disposable glasses.

  • What is the cancellation policy?

Bookings may be cancelled within 24 hours of the booking time free of charge, unless they session falls within 24 hours (communal sauna) or 72 hours (private sauna).

For all other cancellations 24 hours notice is required to reschedule or cancel appointments for communal sauna sessions and 72 hours notice is required for private group bookings. Refunds are not issued after the initial 24 hour window and a credit note for the value of the sauna session will be issued with a 90 day expiry.
